Maintaining elevated water storage tanks is often unfamiliar territory for utility owners, as significant improvements and repairs occur infrequently—typically every 20 to 30 years. While these tanks are not complex structures and are relatively low maintenance during their life cycle, it’s helpful for owners to have a basic understanding of maintenance and the rehabilitation processes.

This presentation will cover different options available for maintenance and rehabilitation of water storage tanks, including recommendations for inspection and conditions assessment. The process of repainting a tank will be covered in detail, including surface preparation, coating options and onsite inspection.
