The water industry is undergoing a technological revolution, with AI, IoT and real-time monitoring playing pivotal roles in optimizing system performance and ensuring public health. Traditional water management often relies on reactive approaches, leading to inefficiencies, service disruptions and compliance risks. This presentation explores how smart water technology is enabling utilities to shift toward proactive, data-driven decision-making.

We will discuss:

  • IoT in Water Systems: How smart sensors and real-time telemetry improve system visibility, detect leaks and enhance pressure management.
  • AI-Driven Predictive Maintenance: The role of machine learning in forecasting equipment
  • failures, optimizing pump efficiency and reducing operational costs.
  • Real-Time Water Quality Monitoring: The benefits of continuous monitoring for chlorine residuals, turbidity and contaminants, ensuring regulatory compliance and public safety.
Through case studies, we will examine how utilities have successfully integrated these technologies to extend asset life, reduce energy consumption and improve water quality. This session will also address challenges such as cybersecurity risks, integration with legacy infrastructure and workforce training.  Attendees will leave with actionable insights into implementing AI, IoT and real-time monitoring solutions to enhance resilience, optimize operations and meet evolving regulatory demands.
