With the recent IIJA Bill, hundreds of millions of dollars have become available to communities to compete for. The competition, however, is fierce. This presentation will review some of the new grant programs available through IIJA and the key requirements for some of those programs. It will also include tips for developing a competitive project and writing a winning grant proposal. The presentation will conclude with a case study on the City of Nampa's recent RAISE Grant win. They will present lessons learned as well as key takeaways for what happens when you win a federal grant and the procurement process.

By the end of this session, participants will better understand federal grant programs, define and understand federal grant selection criteria, identify if a project is a good fit for a federal grant, and understand the process to internally execute a federal grant upon award.
