A reliable water source in volumes that can meet a growing facility’s needs has rapidly become a key decision-maker for industries looking for a home across the country. Ohio’s access to abundant water resources makes it a desirable location for such development. However, limitations in Ohio’s current capacity to access, treat, and distribute these water resources to development sites have hindered the ability to capture many growth opportunities. Adding to this is the uncertainty of a changing climate and how it will impact our water supply.

Overcoming this water challenge will require economic, technological, and innovative solutions that must be developed to allow for the growing water demands and be sustainable. These solutions will account for Ohio’s future growth opportunities. This presentation will discuss these challenges and potential solutions to meet our rapidly growing thirst for water. Identifying where our most valuable water resources are located, options for locations with limited water supply, and how to develop and grow in both locations will be discussed under the current and future climate conditions.
