Corridor studies can have a wide variety of goals and purposes. This presentation will explore various purposes and processes for corridor studies. The discussion will emphasize that the key to success for any corridor study is for the sponsoring agency, during the scoping process, to clearly identify its goals and objectives for the study; and for the study team to develop a well-defined process and clear expectations for the study. For an MPO, typically those goals and objectives are a direct outgrowth of its Long Range Transportation Plan.
