B&N Bridge Inspection Co-op Responsibilities:

• As part of a team of experienced Inspection professionals, you will learn to perform inspection of bridge or other structures
• You’ll work side-by-side with experienced engineers and rope climbing experts to document and report bridge conditions for routine or special bridge inspection assignments using tablets and cameras
• You’ll assist on inspection tasks in the field and assist with report creation, learning and developing basic inspection skills according to NBIS (National Bridge Inspection Standards)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Heights don’t bother you and you have the desire to learn about bridge inspection
• You can handle high levels of physical exertion including walking, climbing, bending, carrying and lifting up to 50lbs of equipment; training techniques for bridge inspection provided
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history is required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
• Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
• Ability to work remotely based on business operations and the needs of the firm
