Assistant Bridge Inspector

Learn from some of the top bridge inspection experts in the industry to assist with conducting thorough inspection, assessment and documentation of transportation structures including culverts, girders, beams, trusses and slabs ensuring safety for the traveling public user.

B&N Assistant Bridge Inspector Responsibilities

  • Assist the Bridge Inspection Team Leader with assessment and inspection the structural components of bridges and other structures
  • Use tablet-based field note collection and processing applications to document bridge conditions for routine or special bridge inspection field work and report writing
  • Learn about bridge and other structure design, maintenance, and inspection practices

Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Training in safe rope climbing techniques for bridge inspection is provided
  • Ability and desire to climb large bridge and other large structures and lift up to 50 lbs. of gear
  • Ability to work outside 80% of the time, physical ability to move in and around bridge structures with live traffic within close proximity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history
  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
