Are you motivated, energetic and ready to take your career to the next level? Burgess & Niple is seeking a licensed Architect to join our Norfolk or Richmond office.

B&N Architect Responsibilities

  • Work on diverse project types to include higher education, federal design/build and design/bid/build and municipal projects
  • Lead project construction document development from concept design thru construction documents
  • Work independently and coordinate design efforts with engineering disciplines as part of a team providing design and technical leadership
  • Review shop drawings, project data and samples of materials in construction
  • Attend site visits and conduct meeting with owner and contractor
  • Prepare field visit reports during construction

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and Master's degree in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program
  • Registered Architect in Virginia with a NCARB certificate not required but preferred. 
  • Eight or more years of related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, REVIT, AutoCAD and Bluebeam or Adobe 
  • Client interfacing experience
  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
