Want to work for an A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration? Burgess & Niple is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our Richmond, Virginia office and utilize their technical expertise to lead and complete interesting and challenging projects.

B&N Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine assignments, which are clearly defined, and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Provide design and drafting support in producing deliverables, contract documents, design calculations and analysis, and assisting lead mechanical engineers in a team environment
  • Perform technical writing and cost estimates for studies and reports, HVAC load calculations and energy modeling calculations
  • Perform site visits to obtain field dimensions and other relevant project data
  • Provide design of building plumbing systems including water, waste, vent, and domestic hot water systems

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Virginia EIT registration or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 0-2 years of experience in engineering is required
  • Knowledge and experience with AutoCAD MEP, REVIT, and Trace 700
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess an outgoing and positive attitude
  • Be dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines
