Burgess & Niple is seeking a full time transportation design focused Civil Engineering Co-op for Summer Semester 2022 in our Painesville, OH office to gain experience in calculations, analysis and design for roadway and transportation projects.

What a Civil Engineer Co-op is all about:

As an important part of the project team and under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, the co-op will utilize and further develop existing drafting skills in AutoCAD or Microstation. Assist in the office and in the field with a wide variety of local and state transportation and roadway improvement projects including plan preparation, pavement rehabilitation, drainage design, traffic control design, and maintenance of traffic design. This experience will provide increased knowledge of transportation infrastructure design in a real-life application of civil engineering.

What you need to make an impact:

  • Current Civil Engineering student at an ABET accredited college or university
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or Microstation experience is highly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work in at team setting both in the office and in the field
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Housing is the responsibility of the Co-op. Typical work hours are Monday - Friday, 8am -5pm.
