Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that values employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a CAD Technician/Designer to join our team in Portland, OR.

B&N CAD Technician/Designer Responsibilities:

  • Support the engineering team by creating figures and construction plans for a variety of Public Transportation Infrastructure projects across the US including roundabouts, interchanges, ADA ramps, trails, and local street reconstruction
  • Train and mentor staff in the proper plan production procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering staff on technical challenges while adhering to task performance indicators, budgets, and schedules
  • Assist engineers and CAD designers with tasks such as drafting and design, creation / editing of technical drawings and materials for submittal packages

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Required, Vocational school or associate degree in related program preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive technical experience in CAD and plan development for transportation engineering design projects
  • Experience developing plan sets for transportation infrastructure projects in Oregon is required
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microstation and Open Roads Designer required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required (MSTeams, Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to take verbal direction and implement into drawings and calculations to produce the final work
  • Good communication skills and strong understanding of plan clarity
