Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for an entry level Transportation Engineer to join our team in Portland.

B&N Transportation Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Professional Engineers, design staff and be mentored by industry leaders in transportation
  • Participate in delivering professional services related to all aspects of transportation design to a wide variety of clients throughout Oregon and across the US including both DOT's and a wide range of municipal clients
  • Assist in the design and production of roadway, drainage and/or traffic construction plans
  • Learn and develop your skills creating conventional plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
  • Interact with clients, governing agencies, and the public

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Engineer Intern (EI) registration required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • 0-2 years of civil engineering experience, prior transportation internship/co-op experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required (Word, Outlook, Excel). Experience with AutoCAD or ORD preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs
