Roadway Engineer

We are expanding our team in the Pacific Northwest, and we are looking for a motivated Transportation/Roadway Engineer to join our team in Portland, Oregon! Come collaborate with some of the top transportation experts in the industry while participating on all types of design projects including highways, local streets, trails, and bike & pedestrian infrastructure.

B&N Roadway Engineer Responsibilities

  • Roadway/Drainage design and plan preparation
  • Support/lead portions of preliminary engineering and final design tasks for items such as horizontal and vertical geometry, roadside design, grading, surface modeling, cross sections or construction details
  • Work collaboratively with your project team to develop and prepare deliverables to meet project objectives and schedule.
  • Participate in meetings related to assigned projects

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
  • EIT certification with the desire to ultimately become a PE
  • 2+ years of related roadway and/or drainage design experience; previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience is desirable
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Experience with design software such as Microstation/AutoCAD, and Civil 3D/Bentley OpenRoads is preferred
  • Great communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
