This position will work on a variety of interesting projects and offers growth for professional and personal development offering a combination of field and office responsibilities.
B&N Geologist Responsibilities:
- Support environmental site assessment, investigation, remediation, compliance, and permitting projects
- Perform soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapor, and other environmental sample collection and shipping in accordance with project plans and standard procedures
- Support drilling oversight, monitoring well installation, and well development activities
- Log soil and/or rock samples, document subsurface conditions, and prepare field notes, boring logs, well construction logs, and sampling records
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain field equipment such as water quality meters, photoionization, detectors, water level meters, GPS units, and sampling equipment
- Prepare field documentation, technical memoranda, tables, figures, reports, permit documents, and regulatory submittals
- Research environmental regulations, guidance, databases, and public records
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, drillers, laboratories, agencies, facility operators, and internal project teams
- Support health and safety planning, tailgate safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and implementation of site-specific health and safety requirements
- Assist with proposals, project research, cost estimates, meeting preparation, and business development
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Hydrogeology, Geology, or other related Earth or Soil science
- 2-5 years of related experience required
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly for research, drafting, and data organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to research agency databases, public records, and municipal portals
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays
- Experience with solid waste or landfill development is a plus
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS, Bluebeam, and/or Adobe Acrobat preferred
- Ability to obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Travel arrangements to and from work assignments including airfare, hotel, and meals are reimbursed. Of course, all safety training, equipment, tolls, and tech are provided.
