As our newest Senior Roadway Engineer in our Phoenix office, you'll become part of our employee-owned organization where your creativity and expertise will shape the pathways of tomorrow. 

B&N Senior Roadway Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Engineer of Record for project deliverables
  • Serve as lead/chief roadway design engineer and deputy project manager, lead, develop, and implement roadway design approaches, design criteria, and task management functions on projects.
  • Maintain quality control of the work products and successfully complete projects on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with professional engineers within B&N’s Arizona operations and across the firm
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout project delivery
  • Strengthen team capabilities through mentoring, training, and teaching staff technical skills
  • Monitor relevant project performance using financial indicators, budget, and schedules
  • Represent B&N in both external client meetings and external professional society meetings such as ACEC, APWA, ASCE, and others


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program required
  • Arizona PE registration or ability to obtain through reciprocity 
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience
  • Proven project delivery with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs
  • Ability to work remotely based on business operations and the needs of the firm
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) 
  • Proficiency with PDF review programs (i.e. BlueBeam Revu, Adobe)
  • Proficiency with design software packages (i.e. AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads) expected for work with Arizona public agencies
