Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team in Tempe.

B&N Engineering Intern Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of experienced transportation engineers on various traffic engineering projects such as capacity analyses and safety evaluations
  • Develop familiarity and skills with traffic engineering software such as Synchro and other traffic analysis platforms
  • Assist engineers with developing reports that summarize traffic and safety analyses for large interchange projects as well as urban and rural roadways and intersections
  • Assist engineers with project scoping and final design
  • Develop construction plans, cost estimates, and specifications using design tools such as MicroStation and AutoCAD

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of your undergraduate degree
  • You have a strong interest in traffic engineering; previous internships are a plus
  • You can’t wait to learn and develop traffic analysis skills and gain autonomy as your capabilities progress
  • You want to flex your skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience using MicroStation a plus
