Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Safety Engineer in our Parkersburg or Charleston office.

B&N Traffic Safety Engineer Responsibilities:        

  • Assist in the development of Vision Zero Action Plans, Regional Safety Plans, Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Plans, Vulnerable Road User Assessments, Strategic Highway Safety Plans (SHSPs) and other safety planning efforts across the country
  • Support projects involving the Safe System Approach (SSA), proven safety countermeasures and strategies, systemic data analysis, and the Highway Safety Manual
  • Collaborate as part of our national Transportation Safety Team to expand the safety practice to new geographies
  • Support the WV Transportation Group on a variety of roadway and traffic projects assigned by WVDOT

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program or equivalent
  • EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, MicroStation is preferred but not required
  • Safety data analysis experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a team setting both in the office and in the field
  • Strong problem-solving skills
