Begin your career working with some of the top MEP engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for a summer 2026 Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in Norfolk.

 B&N Mechanical Engineering Intern Responsibilities:

  • Work with our project team, collaborate and learn from experienced professional engineers.
  • Perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Provide design and drafting support in producing deliverables, contract documents, design calculations and analysis, and assisting lead mechanical engineers in a team environment.
  • Perform technical writing for studies.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations.
  • Perform site visits to obtain field dimensions and other relevant project data.
  • Possess an outgoing and positive attitude Be dependable and meet all assigned project deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
