Come work with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm that value employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is seeking a motivated Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our team in Louisville. 

B&N Transportation Engineer/Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform complex transportation design for new alignments, widenings, resurfacings, and intersection improvements for state and local agency clients
  • Develop and/or review design calculations, quantities and cost estimates
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative, learning-focused team environment
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams such as traffic, drainage, structures, utilities, and environmental, to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Serve as a technical resource for clients, addressing design questions and developing innovative, cost-effective solutions
  • Maintain QA/QC processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables 
  • Represent the team at client meetings, design meetings, and field reviews
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and agency-specific requirements 
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, and fee estimation for transportation project pursuits 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program required 
  •  Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the State of Kentucky, or ability to be registered with reciprocity
  • 12 + years of related transportation design experience for state and municipal transportation clients
  • Advanced proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and related design software
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Servant leader committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence while developing others
