Burgess & Niple is looking for a Civil Engineer, Transportation to join our team in Louisville. This position is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our local team and utilize their technical and leadership expertise to lead and complete interesting and challenging projects.

B&N Civil Engineer, Transportation Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in delivering professional roadway improvements for a variety of clients in local and state transportation projects
  • Collaborate with other Professional Engineers and designers to solve complex engineering problems
  • Lead and participate in plan preparation, drainage design, traffic design, traffic safety and highway safety improvement program projects
  • Utilize and teach others in developing drafting and design skills in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Opportunity to mentor junior level staff and interns with the support of senior engineers

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited Civil Engineer program
  • PE registration is required
  • 5-10 years of related civil transportation experience
  • Good communication skills, organization skills, team player, and detail oriented
  • Software experience with Microsoft Office, MicroStation & OpenRoads, StormCAD and/or ORD Drainage
  • Preferred knowledge using software’s such as Projectwise, AutoCAD & Civil 3D, HEC-RAS
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
