We're looking for a Co-op/Survey Assistant for Summer 2022 interested in exposure to a variety of utility and transportation projects both urban and rural roadway design, drainage design, and surveying to join our fast-paced, dynamic team in Louisville. 

What a Co-op/Survey Assistant is all about: 

  • You will get to work on a wide variety of tasks and projects in the field and office
  • Under the supervision of a Licensed Surveyor, you will perform routine survey field work and computations for boundaries, subdivisions, easements, and existing base mapping 
  • You will get to process field survey data and prepare CADD base maps
  • You will get to perform research in various jurisdictions for deeds, plats, etc.
  • You will get to assist in the preparation of plats, exhibits and R/W plans while operating CADD and survey software
  • You will gain exposure to survey equipment, such as robotic total stations, GNSS, digital levels, terrestrial scanners, and UAS 

 You may be a good fit if you have these skills and qualifications: 

  • Current undergraduate student at an accredited college or university working toward an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Civil, Construction or Survey Technology; or similar discipline. Preference for two years of college course work completed 
  • Limited travel within Kentucky 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat and reach 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile devices 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work outdoors 
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record 
  • Willingness to work in a team setting 

Typical work hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Housing and transportation to/from work is the responsibility of the intern, parking is provided.
