Traffic Engineer

Collaborate with some of the top transportation experts in the industry, participate in production of traffic design plans, perform traffic studies, and develop and prepare project deliverables. We are expanding our team and are looking for a motivated Traffic Engineer to support our project team for traffic operations analysis on projects in Indiana and throughout the country. 

B&N Traffic Engineer Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with project and design team to develop and prepare project deliverables to meet project objectives and schedule.
  • Opportunity to develop signal, signing and striping, and traffic control plans
  • Prepare traffic impact studies and traffic analysis for state and local governments.
  • Engage with the transportation industry to identify marketing opportunities and build strategic business development
  • Participate in meetings related to assigned projects

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil or transportation engineering program
  • PE registration in the State of Indiana, or ability to be registered with reciprocity, PTOE a plus
  • 5+ years of related traffic design or traffic studies experience; prior experience with Interchange Access Request/Interchange Justification Report experience preferred
  • Strong interest in transportation engineering and motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems
  • Experience with traffic analysis software such as Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, TransModeler or VISSIM is preferred
  • Experience with Microstation and/or CAD is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Great communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
