Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking a Transportation Planner, Entry Level to join our Columbus, OH office.


B&N Transportation Planner, Entry Level Responsibilities:

  • Performa safety analyses and network screening, including systemic analysis and site-specific studies
  • Apply Safe System Approach (SSA) principles, proven safety countermeasures, and Highway Safety Manual methodologies on assigned projects
  • Collaborate and learn from experienced Professional Engineers and Planners and be mentored by industry leaders in transportation
  • Grown and develop skills including traffic engineering tasks, technical skills, project management and business development
  • Support experienced planners and engineers on transportation projects, including traffic modeling and analysis, safety analysis, and traffic forecasting

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), Sustainable Built Environments or similar
  • 0-4 years of experience in transportation planning, safety planning, or other planning or engineering studies or analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to collaborate
  • Project management and business development experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microstation, GIS, or AutoCAD; experience with Synchro, HCS, HSM, or IHSDM a plus
  • ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Strong interest in transportation and motivated to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation systems
