Come work with a wide range of professionals at an established A/E firm that value employee input and collaboration. Burgess & Niple is looking for a Transportation Planner to join our team in our Columbus OH office.


B&N Transportation Planner Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate, produce/deliver, and/or lead tasks for a variety of transportation planning projects, including safety action plans, corridor studies, safety studies, and active transportation plans
  • Potential to direct the work of others, develop staff, and continue building your own technical skillset
  • Perform and review safety analyses including systemic analysis, network screening, and site-specific studies
  • Prepare presentations and write reports that will communicate planning processes and results to clients and the general public
  • Collaborate with the national Transportation Safety, Active Transportation, and Transportation Planning teams to expand work into new geographies
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout project delivery
  • Expand relationship depth with key existing and new clients


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), Sustainable Build Environments, or similar
  • 4+ years of experience in Transportation Planning, Safety Planning, or other planning or engineering studies or analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ArcGIS, prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptable and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset as well as proactive approach to problem-solving
