Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects, and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking an Entry Level Transportation Planner to join our Columbus OH office.

B&N Transportation Planner, Entry Level Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of transportation and land use plans including multimodal long-range plans, thoroughfare plans, bicycle/pedestrian plans, and comprehensive plans. Common tasks will involve data collection and analysis, maps and graphics development, and contributing to the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials that will communicate planning processes and results to clients and the general public
  • Assist with stakeholder and public engagement, both in person and virtually
  • Participate in delivering professional services related to all aspects of transportation planning to a wide variety of clients including state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), local governments, and transit providers


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), or similar
  • 0-4 years of experience in Transportation planning, Community Planning, or other planning or engineering studies or analysis
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ArcGIS, prior experience with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable
