B&N Civil/Environmental Engineering Co-op Responsibilities:

  • Assisting senior engineers in performing planning, design, and construction services for utility infrastructure projects including water supply, distribution, pumping, storage, and treatment, as well as wastewater conveyance, storage, pumping, and treatment
  • Utilize and further develop existing drafting skills in AutoCAD on a variety of water line, sewer, force main, and treatment plant projects for municipal clients in the region
  • Assisting with plan and specification development, cost estimating, calculations, reports, exhibits, meetings, presentations, and project site visits/field work
  • Field work may include short duration documentation of construction activities, condition assessments, and verification of existing conditions

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current Civil or Environmental Engineering student at an ABET accredited college or university
  • Related coursework in water/wastewater required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, REVIT experience is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work in at team setting both in the office and in the field (90% in office/10% field work)
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
