Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking a Transportation Planner to join our Columbus, OH office.

B&N Transportation Planner Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the growing national safety practice and work on projects in Ohio and across the country
  • Lead the development of Vision Zero Action Plans, Regional Safety Plans, Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Plans, Vulnerable Road User Assessments, Strategic Highway Safety Plans (SHSPs) and other safety planning efforts across the country
  • Perform and review safety analyses
  • Advise on projects involving the Safe System Approach (SSA), proven safety countermeasures and strategies, and the Highway Safety Manual
  • Attend conferences to share knowledge with safety professionals across the country
  • Assist with the development and mentoring of junior level staff and help them grow into safety professionals

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 4-year degree in Urban/City/Regional Planning, Geography (urban), Civil Engineering or similar
  • 7+ years of experience in Traffic Safety planning, or other Traffic Safety studies or analysis 
  • RSP Certification preferred
  • Expertise on the Safe System Approach, Vision Zero, and other safety principles as well as project management skills desirable
  • Proven verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
