B&N is seeking a motivated individual join our HR Team as a Human Resources Coordinator. You will play a key role in supporting HR functions by assisting with recruitment, employee onboarding, record-keeping, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. You will be a vital part of our HR team, helping us create a positive and authentic environment. 

B&N Human Resources Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resources and personnel files, records, and documentation (electronic files, HRIS, I-9s and paper files); maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources and personnel files and records; performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Performs recruiting activities, including resume review, phone screens, interview scheduling, and processing background checks; may attend college or community career fairs; assist with pre-employment activities 
  • Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding both virtually and/or in-person
  • Assist new hires with any questions about onboarding and coordinate with local office/supervisor to ensure an excellent onboarding experience
  • Collaborate with HR team to support and demonstrate company’s core values and B&N’s culture
  • Other duties/special project as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • 0-2 years experience in an HR related role
  • Interest to obtain HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff, external agencies, partners, providers, and organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must demonstrate an ability to track and organize documents, data, and files accurately and consistently
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
