Burgess & Niple is looking for a Civil Engineer – Water/Wastewater to join our fast-paced, dynamic team in Columbus, OH on a variety of water and wastewater treatment system projects at various stages of development; from preliminary design to construction.

B&N Civil Engineer – Water/Wastewater Responsibilities

  • Plan and design water/wastewater projects with emphasis on water. Projects may include designs of water treatment facilities, booster stations, and/or studies of water and/or wastewater systems
  • In this role you may use large data sets and optimization methods to support data-driven decision making for utility projects; perform data analysis and support the communication of data, including technical writing and the preparation of maps, figures, tables, and other visual aids.
  • Contribute to delivery of projects related to all aspects of water/wastewater treatment and water distribution systems
  • Coordinate with B&N project teams, internally and externally
  • Participate in business development, proposal preparation, and client relationship management
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout the project delivery process
  • Promote a positive team environment that enhances our exceptional corporate culture
  • Maintain quality control of services and deliverables
  • Perform field work, to support renovation and upgrade design

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil, environmental or equivalent engineering program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration required in Ohio; or ability to register through reciprocity
  • A minimum of 7 years of related water system experience; water treatment process knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Project management experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, experience with AutoCAD, REVIT, and/or hydraulic modeling software is a desirable
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
