Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for a Civil Engineering intern, Municipal Infrastructure to join our team in Columbus.

B&N Civil Engineer intern Responsibilities:

  • Work with experienced engineers on a wide variety utility infrastructure design and field services
  • Be responsible for design tasks that could include technical design of storm sewers, waterlines, sanitary sewer rehabilitation projects and quantity takeoff with cost estimation
  • Assist with flow monitor installation, data analysis, smoke testing and dyed water testing for municipality and city improvement projects in Ohio
  • Get involved as part of the project team through both office and field assignments

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering in an ABET accredited program and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree
  • Strong interest in utility infrastructure design design projects; previous internships are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and detail-oriented
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Civil 3D and ArcGIS preferred
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
