Begin your career working with some of the top civil engineering experts in the industry. Burgess & Niple is looking for a Bridge Design Co-op to join our team in Columbus, OH.

B&N Bridge Design Co-op Responsibilities:

  • Work with experienced bridge engineers and detailers on transportation projects
  • Work on bridge design, rehabilitation projects for local and state transportation clients
  • Be involved in bridge design calculations, plan preparation, and report preparation
  • Perform data entry, data manipulation tasks for inspection mobilization and reporting
  • Develop design sketches with MicroStation

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a bachelors’s degree in structural engineering, masters preferred
  • Software experience with Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Strong interest in structural engineering; previous internships are a plus
  • Strong technical skills with desire to learn and develop structural/ bridge engineering skills and gain autonomy as your capabilities progress
  • Able to perform fieldwork for long durations and in inclement weather conditions
  • Capable of physical exertion including but not limited to walking on steep slopes, bending, carrying, and lifting up to 60 lbs. of equipment
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable driving history
