Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Safety Engineer to lead B&N’s Ohio Safety Practice.

B&N Traffic Safety Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review safety analyses
  • Oversee the development of state and regional safety plans and site-specific studies
  • Lead the Marketing and business development efforts as part of our national safety team
  • Advise on projects involving the Safe System Approach (SSA), proven safety countermeasures and strategies, and the Highway Safety Manual
  • Attend conferences to share knowledge with safety professionals across the country
  • Assist with the development and mentoring of junior level staff and help them grow into safety professionals

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program
  • 10+ years of related experience in traffic engineering studies or analysis
  • PE registration required, RSP or PTOE preferred
  • Previous experience in project management and business development helpful but not required
  • Expertise on the Safe System Approach, Vision Zero, and other safety principles strongly recommended
  • Proven verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency MS Office is required, prior experience with GIS is a plus
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
