Begin your career working with senior-level professionals at an established A/E firm. Burgess & Niple is looking for a spring semester 2023 Civil Engineer Co-op, Roadway Design to join our Columbus office.

B&N Engineering Co-op Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of experienced civil engineers with national experience on innovative transportation engineering projects such preliminary roadway studies, interchange, urban street, and multimodal design, safety studies, and construction plan development
  • Gain an understanding of roadway engineering design elements by assisting with calculating cost estimates, developing transportation plans, and utilizing geometric design techniques
  • Develop CAD knowledge, basic engineering analysis, and design and plan production skills from Professional Engineers while becoming familiar with the consulting engineering community’s role in creating and enhancing the transportation systems of the region
  • Learn the basics of industry specific 3D modeling design software like MicroStation

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are a current student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree
  • You have a strong interest in roadway engineering; previous co-ops are a plus
  • You can’t wait to learn and develop roadway engineering skills and gain autonomy as your capabilities progress
  • You want to flex your skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Any experience with MicroStation will be a bonus

Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 30 – 40 hours per week. Housing and transportation to/from work is the responsibility of the co-op, parking is provided.
