As an industry leader of innovative design, Burgess & Niple routinely studies and implements the latest transportation solutions for our clients and is looking for an entry-level Roadway Engineer to join our team in Columbus, OH.

What a Roadway Engineer job is all about:

  • You jump at the opportunity to collaborate with Professional Engineers and design staff  on projects designing maintenance and rehabilitation solutions for clients, Safe Routes to School facilities, signalized intersections and roundabouts, interchanges, and preliminary studies for corridors, trails, and urban roadway alternatives.
  • You are eager to assist with  preliminary plan creation, geometric design for projects ranging from maintenance and rehabilitation efforts to complex urban and freeway design, drainage design, and being part of a team helping clients achieve their project goals.
  • You have a passion for learning and developing your skills creating plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates
  • Change is not a scary word to you. You thrive in an organization that constantly adapts and evolves with client needs
  • You enjoy interacting with clients, governing agencies and the public

What you need to make an impact:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited civil engineering program, Spring 2022 are encouraged to apply
  • EI in State of Ohio, or ability to obtain within 6 months of application, PE is a plus
  • 0 - 2 years of related roadway design experience, candidates with prior related co-op experience preferred
  • Great communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Software proficiency with Microsoft Office required, MicroStation/AutoCAD desirable
