Bridge Design Engineer, Entry Level

Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects and the community? Burgess & Niple is currently seeking a Bridge Design Engineer to join our Cincinnati, Ohio office.

What you can expect as the major duties and responsibilities:

  • Bridge engineering design and CADD support
  • Perform engineering calculations and plan preparation for bridge design and rehabilitation projects.
  • Projects will include analysis and design of complex structures.
  • Training will be provided, but a thorough understanding of engineering principles is required.
  • Other work includes plan review, shop drawing review, and open channel hydraulic analysis. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in civil engineering
  • EI or EIT certification in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, MicroStation and CADD software
  • Familiarity with steel design, concrete design, prestressed concrete design, and finite element analysis
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
