Interested in working with some of the top transportation experts in the industry? Burgess & Niple is seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer to join our Cincinnati office working on projects for ODOT and/or local agencies.

What you can expect as the major duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare design and plan documents for roadway and transportation related projects such as reports, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Preliminary engineering and final design tasks for items such as horizontal and vertical geometry, roadside design, grading, surface modeling, cross sections or construction details
  • Coordinate and supervise the work performed by project team members including technicians, designers and less experienced engineers
  • Work in a collaborative project team setting interacting and coordinating between multiple disciplines and governing agencies

You may be a good fit if you have these skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Ohio
  • Eight or more years of related transportation design experience; ODOT design experience desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microstation and Open Roads
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
