Responsibilities

Are you motivated, energetic and ready to take your career to the next level? Burgess & Niple is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Cincinnati office as the Transportation Section Director.

What you can expect as the major duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Cincinnati Transportation engineering section including utilization, profitability, growth and marketing, talent management, coaching and mentoring 
  • Plan, manage, execute and deliver complex transportation engineering design projects on-time, on budget, and to the performance expectations of the client
  • Create and monitor scopes of work and budgets for various roadway, highway and interchange design projects for ODOT and/or local agencies
  • Monitor all financial aspects of the project including invoicing, budget status, accounts receivable, and monthly reports
  • Develop and implement business development growth plan for the transportation section including client relations and proposal development

You may be a good fit if you have these skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering  
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Ohio
  • Fifteen or more years of related transportation design with project and staff management experience
  • Ability to motivate project teams in meeting client’s needs while maintaining budget objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with experience maintaining client relationships
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
