Burgess & Niple is seeking a Civil Engineer, Entry Level to join our Parkersburg or Charleston WV office. This position provides the opportunity to work as part of a design team and collaborate with some of the top experts in the industry.

**NOTE: This position is an anticipated hire for June 2026.

B&N Civil Engineer, Entry Level Responsibilities:

  • Engage with project stakeholders and team members on a variety of projects, which may include the design of water lines, sewer lines, roadway, traffic, and/or bridge projects for municipal and state clients in the region
  • Be involved in plan preparation, geometrics, quantity calculations, design calculations, and/or permit preparation
  • Utilize and further develop drafting skills in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Gain field experience to inspect, assess and verify infrastructure conditions, which may include documentation of construction activities, bridge inspection, manhole inspection, and/or assistance with survey crew

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • EI registration required or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 0-2 years of related civil engineering experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
