B&N Roadway Designer Responsibilities

  • Actively lead and/or participate in the preliminary engineering and design production of roadway and transportation engineering projects for public agencies including departments of transportation, counties, authorities, and municipalities
  • Be a regional resource for B&N’s transportation team delivering projects primarily in West Virginia, with opportunities to collaborate with other geographies
  • Utilize Bentley (MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer) design and production tools
  • Create an exemplary client experience throughout the project delivery
  • Develop roadway, bicycle, and pedestrian design layouts, models, plan sheets, cost estimates and exhibits
  • Maintain quality control of the work products and successfully complete projects on time and within budget
  • Opportunity to provide training, coaching, and mentoring for developing staff
  • Support marketing team and PM's with business development activities such as preparation of qualification packages and shortlist interview presentations
  • Assist with transportation planning studies and/or NEPA documentation

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering design and production software (MicroStation)
  • Experience in In-Roads, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD and/or Civil3D is a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs
