Burgess & Niple is looking for an CAD Designer to join our fast-paced, dynamic team in our Austin, TX office delivering professional transportation design services throughout Texas. This position will provide a confident self-starter the opportunity for significant career advancement.

What a Designer job is all about:

  • Supported and mentored by a team of technical experts and project managers, you’ll provide drafting/design and detailing on a variety transportation design projects for clients throughout Texas including the Texas Department of Transportation, Regional Mobility Authorities and Tolling Authorities, Municipal Planning Organizations, Councils of Governments and cities and counties throughout the state
  • Manage and coordinate project drawings using Microstation and Geopak
  • As part of the project team, complete design tasks and produce high quality plans, specifications and estimate (PS&E) deliverables to create an exemplary client experience
  • Collaborate with engineering staff on technical challenges while adhering to task performance indicators, budgets and schedules

What you need to make an impact:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree preferred
  • 3 or more years of progressive technical experience in CAD and PS&E plan development for transportation engineering design projects; TxDOT design experience preferred  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microstation and Geopak or equivalent CAD software; OpenRoads experience is preferred
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
  • Ability to work remotely based on business operations and the needs of the firm
