B&N Elects New Owners and Associates

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Burgess & Niple, Inc., recently announced the election of four owners and two associates to the firm effective January 1, 2004.
 
Thomas A. Bolte, PE, was elected an owner of the firm. Bolte joined B&N in 1981 and is the director of the Bridge Group in the Columbus, Ohio, headquarters office. His experience includes project management of bridge and transportation projects; design, analysis, and inspection of bridges and other structures; and review of bridge plans. 
 
A registered professional engineer, Bolte earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Thomas J. Mignery, CPG, was elected an owner of the firm. Mignery, who joined the firm in 1987, is a senior hydrogeologist in the Columbus, Ohio, headquarters office. His principal area of expertise is Brownfield Redevelopment, planning strategic solutions for the effective cleanup and use of valuable properties.
 
A certified professional geologist (CPG), Mignery earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Miami University, and a Master of Science in Hydrogeology from Kent State University. He is a certified professional under the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Voluntary Action Program (EPA-VAP).

Garrett S. Runey II, PE, LS, was elected an owner of the firm. Runey joined B&N in 1995 and is director of the Richmond district office. His experience includes managing engineering and surveying teams for projects ranging from educational and institutional facilities to industrial parks and residential and commercial properties. 
 
A registered professional engineer and certified land surveyor, Runey earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Central Florida.

E. Scott Sondles, PE, was elected an owner of the firm. Sondles joined the firm in 1989 and is Director of the Indianapolis office, which he opened in December of 1991. During his tenure with the firm he has served as both project engineer and project manager on numerous engineering and architecture projects.  Most notable is his collaborative bridge design work on the Central Bridge over the Ohio River in Cincinnati, Ohio; the Discovery Bridge over the Scioto River in Columbus, Ohio; and the East Street Bridge over the Little Kanawha River in Parkersburg, West Virginia. 
 
Sondles also served as principal-in-charge of transportation studies and is a contributing author to the INDOT Right-of-Way Manual.
 
A registered professional engineer (PE), Sondles earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Daniel R. Johnson, PE, was elected an associate of the firm. Johnson, who joined B&N in 1988, serves as a section director in the Akron office. He is experienced in many facets of water and wastewater engineering, including: preparation of planning and construction documents for water and wastewater treatment plants, pretreatment program assistance, industrial wastewater treatment, groundwater investigations, dams, water distribution systems and stormwater work.
 
A registered professional engineer (PE), Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.

William C. Putman, PE, was elected an associate of the firm. Putman joined the firm in 1984. He is a senior project manager in Burgess & Niple’s Chantilly, Virginia, office. He is experienced in the land development arena, serving as project manager for Westfields Corporate Center, a $2-billion, 1,110-acre, mixed-use business park in Northern Virginia. He also serves as project manager for Glenkirk Estates, a 206-acre, nine-phase, residential community in Prince William County, Virginia.
 
A registered professional engineer, Putman earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Engineering Administration from George Washington University.
