B&N Elects New Owner, Two New Associates
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Burgess & Niple is pleased to announced the election of Dennis M. Thomas, PE to an owner of the firm, and J. Scott Dailey, CPG, and Jeffrey L. Drake, PE to associates of the firm effective January 1, 2007.
Dennis M. Thomas, PE, serves as Civil Engineering Manager in the Dulles, Virginia office. Dennis leads engineering teams responsible for municipal infrastructure and commercial, residential and institutional land development projects. Since he joined the firm in 1985, Dennis has managed dozens of open-ended municipal contracts. He is a designated plans examiner in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. His expertise includes land development engineering, stormwater management, utility and drainage design, streetscape improvements and civil engineering services for private- and public-sector clients.
A registered Professional Engineer in Virginia and Maryland, Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
J. Scott Dailey, CPG, joined the firm in 1986 as a geologist, and currently is Hydrogeological Director in the firm’s Columbus Environmental Division. His expertise includes environmental subsurface site investigations, remedial design and implementation, and groundwater monitoring. Dailey also works closely with state and local agencies to coordinate tank and hazardous waste closures through human health risk assessments and institutional and engineering controls.
A Certified Professional Geologist (CPG), Dailey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Miami University in Miami, Ohio.
Jeffrey L. Drake, PE, joined the firm in 2001 and is Engineering Director in the firm’s Indianapolis office. His design experience includes bridges, highway interchanges, utility infrastructure, and commercial and industrial projects.
A registered Professional Engineer (PE), Drake earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
