Auburn Technology Honored with ABC Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Burgess & Niple designed Auburn Technology Learning Center, located in Lake County, Ohio, recently received an award of merit from the Northern Ohio Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). The honor was presented at ABC's 2004 Excellence in Construction Awards dinner, held on November 5, 2004.

This multi-purpose, 19,750-square-foot facility provides cutting edge learning environments for students, in addition to comfortable corporate-style areas to attract adult learners and local businesses seeking high-tech training. The first vocational school district in Ohio, Auburn is a full-service adult education center offering assessment, counseling, educational course work and customized programs.

Key spaces of the building include an assembly area, which acts as the social core of the building, and a learning zone with diverse classroom and training areas. Other spaces include a casual study area, office zone, program development zone and technology hub. The new facility was featured on the Discovery Channel in 2003 and in Properties magazine, a Cleveland area construction publication.
