McNaughton Fields Park, owned by the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA), underwent a complete renovation to include a new entrance, a 175-space parking lot, four lighted and irrigated ball fields, a playground area and a future site for a restroom/concession building. B&N provided surveying, environmental, geotechnical, electrical, testing and inspections, civil engineering and construction administration services for the renovation project.

B&N designed several stormwater management/Best Management Practice (BMP) methods including porous concrete, vegetated swales and bioretention basins. The designs also included underground detention to improve stormwater quantity control.

Low Impact Design (LID) measures were evaluated for runoff reduction using the Virginia Runoff Reduction Method (VRRM). The project team also coordinated with the Department of Public Works on potential soil augmentations, dry swales, filters and other potential options.
