Burgess & Niple (B&N) is pleased to announce the expansion of its leadership team with the election of three new Owners.
Effective January 2, 2019, B&N’s newly elected Owners are:
Travis Butz, PE
Travis joined B&N in 1997 and currently serves as a Senior Bridge Engineer in the Columbus Bridge Design Section. He has served as B&N’s lead technical engineer on many of the firm’s most complex bridge projects, including the Columbus Rich Street Bridge, the Milton-Madison Bridge, and the New River Gorge Bridge rehabilitation. As a firm owner, he will continue his technical leadership of the bridge design staff and will work to deliver innovative solutions to the challenges facing B&N’s clients. Travis earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University.
Jeff Drake, PE
Jeff currently serves as the Director of Engineering in B&N’s Indianapolis office and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University. Over the course of his 19-year career with B&N, Jeff has worked on over 100 Indiana Department of Transportation projects, 40+ bridge and roadway realignment projects, several historic truss renovations and numerous roadway and highway interchange designs, including the State Route 265 Bypass as part of the Ohio River Bridges project. Jeff defines success as focusing on what matters each day while continuing to develop both personally and professionally, and passing those lessons on to younger staff.
Dan Johnson, PE
Dan joined B&N in 1988 and is currently Director of the Utility Infrastructure section in Akron. In his 30 years with B&N, he has managed a wide variety of public water and wastewater treatment projects mainly throughout Northeast Ohio for small, medium and large clients. He has also managed industrial wastewater treatment projects. Dan is active in all stages of his projects from planning through design and construction. He has given many presentations at the local, state, and the national level. Dan is most passionate about serving people: our own staff and our clients. He believes that success is built on relationships and treating people well. Dan graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Civil Engineering.
