Congratulations to B&N Senior Project Manager Leigh Cerda, PE, who is the newly elected president of the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT). Leigh was elected to her new position during the 2018 Texas Water Conference that was held in San Antonio.
Leigh has more than 25 years of experience in water and wastewater systems. She is a previous recipient of WEAT’s Sidney L. Allison Award for her significant contributions to the engineering, science and operations of wastewater collection and pumping stations. Leigh was inducted into the Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers (5s) for her contributions to WEAT. Her previous leadership roles with WEAT include serving as secretary; Management Review Committee member-at-large at the state level; and chair of the Collections Systems Committee. In 2015, she was featured in Water Efficiency Magazine as one of three "Women at Water's Leading Edge."
Leigh’s extensive experience and expertise includes serving as a project manager/engineer for water and wastewater system assessments, design and rehabilitation. She is a national speaker on water and wastewater systems and has authored numerous technical articles and publications.
WEAT is a non-profit, educational organization and member association of the Water Environment Federation. More than 2,220 members are involved in protecting and enhancing Texas’ water resources. The organization includes 32 committees and 20 sections across the state.
