This presentation will dive into the GIS tools and tricks used in a recent Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) safety planning effort in Pima County, Arizona, with the Pima County Department of Transportation to automate a recurring safety analysis that helps direct investments in traffic safety and demonstrate meaningful progress toward a vision of zero fatalities on the roadways.

This presentation will show how technical tools can move safety analysis from a time-consuming, manual process to a repeatable process that supports decision-making. It will include applied use of ArcGIS Pro ModelBuilder and a practical overview of when Python and other tools can strengthen analysis, as well as a real-world example of how raw data can be transformed to help agencies prioritize investments, communicate findings and drive action.
