To manage 380,000 annual permit loads, the Ohio Hauling Permit System (OHPS) required a more accurate way to evaluate Non-Standard Gauge (NSG) vehicles. Previous methods relied on legacy modifiers that often triggered unnecessary, time-consuming manual structural reviewsThis research utilized Midas Civil to conduct a parametric study of 168 bridges and 34 axle configurations. The study produced a Distribution Factor Correction Matrix now used to automate the analysis of superloads. This tool ensures infrastructure safety while significantly increasing the efficiency of Ohio's hauling permit process.
