A Safe System Approach at MPOs
Safe System Approach (SSA) is a new FHWA framework to prevent transportation-related fatalities and serious injuries. MPOs play an important role prioritizing policies, programs, and projects and can do more to integrate safety into those. Based on case study examples, this session will explore opportunities for MPOs to integrate SSA into their agencies and planning processes.
