Burgess & Niple is looking for a highly motivated, energetic Bridge Engineer to join our Texas Statewide Bridge Team in our South Austin, TX office. This position will provide a confident self-starter the opportunity for significant career advancement. 

What you can expect as the major duties and responsibilities:

  • Opportunity to work with senior engineers, technical experts, project managers and be expected to proactively learn new methods and techniques
  • Provide guidance to CAD staff and coordinate with engineering staff in developing and delivering projects
  • Participate and contribute in project delivery to create an exemplary client experience to a wide variety of clients throughout Texas including the Texas Department of Transportation, Regional Mobility Authorities and Tolling Authorities, and cities & counties throughout the state
  • Serve as task/project engineer for selected clients/projects
  • Support B&N’s developed plans for expanding our client base and winning new work
  • Expand development of strong client relationships with existing clients
  • Monitor task performance indicators, budgets, schedules, and contribute to management of risk
  • Collaborate with project managers on project pursuits and technical challenges
  • Support strategic business planning to grow bridge services across all geographies

 You may be a good fit if you have these skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in civil engineering
  • EIT or EI certification required; desire and ability to ultimately become a PE
  • 2+ years of progressive technical experience in bridge design
  • TxDOT Project experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Experience with Microstation or equivalent CAD software required, Knowledge of OpenRoads software a plus
  • Strong interpersonal & written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, including the capability to learn virtual collaboration tools
